I think if you want top notch and very fast browser you just need to stick to any mature enough chromium browser.Īs for gecko based browsers. They're all good browsers, I've used all of them at some point for at least some amount of time and there werent any that I disliked (if we discount the default search engines some of them use). I don't think anyone would be able to tell. I guess one can conclude that Edge is probably slightly faster still, but it's really not by much. So it seems to me that the scores are too close at this point, and that this margin of deviation is too large for us to really be able to tell anything. So I reran the test for Edge in the exact same conditions again. Even quickly running basemark in chrome gave me 2500. I found it a lil strange that there was that big of a difference, even though all the other chromium browsers were pretty much the same. This far into my testing I realized, pretty much all the chromium based browsers were benching around the same with almost no noticable difference, except for Edge being an outlier in basemark.

No background programs were running outside of the OS ones.

Test system is running Windows 11, and has a 5900x cpu, 6900 xt gpu, WD sn850 nvme drive, and 32gb of ddr4 ram. These were all tested with no extensions, any builtin adblocker disabled but otherwise default settings, incognito/private browsing tab, maximized window. Ended up only testing a couple and I'll explain why below. I originally had a plan to benchmark a bunch of different browsers to see if anything has changed since the last while anyone did something like this.
