For my own personal opinion, I'd prefer a higher quality machine (but I'd never pay that kind of money). I haven't (and don't intend to) get much use out of it, but I believe it is something my father will enjoy and I'd recommend it if you c an get it at a good enough price. The headphone jack is nice, but on mine you have to force the plug to stay in place (I bought mine used). It's just a few buttons and you're on a beach or around a campfire. The sounds vary from natural to ambient and there's a selection for everyone. As for the product itself, the speaker sounds nice at lower volumes, but the quality diminishes at higher volume levels. Bear in mind that I'm not the target audience for this I often dislike unnecessary noise. Haven't given it to him yet but I have tried it out myself and it's average quality at best.
